Termites

Can termites really be that big of a problem?

Termites actually cause more property damage than fires, storms, and earthquakes combined. They work out of sight, making hardly a sound. They eat wood, cardboard, paper, cotton fabric; almost anything containing cellulose, and they never stop eating. A mature subterranean termite colony can consist of hundreds of thousands, sometimes even millions of individual termites.
Yes! Termites can REALLY be a problem.

Winged ants and swarming termites can be easily confused. Here's a few hints for telling the difference:

TERMITE (left)
Straight antennae
Thick waist
One body part + head
Both pair of wings same size

ANT (right)
Elbowed antennae
Narrow waist
Two distinct body parts + head
Front wings much longer than
back wings
Both are about ˝" long
